An accomplished lawyer, Michael Bilandic (1923-2002) is best remembered as a civil servant who served in each of the three branches of government. Bilandic was an alderman for seven years, served as mayor of Chicago for two and a half years, and sat as a justice on both the Apellate and Illinois Supreme Courts.
